The news came out today that Sarah Palin will NOT seek reelection, and is possibly stepping down, as the Governor of Alaska. This, of course, begs the question, is she running for President in 2012? Not being Governor of Alaska, frees up her time, which allows her to get out and make speeches, and be a rallying point for the Conservative movement. (I can see the Tea Parties lining up now to get her to come speak!) This also allows her to start raising campaign funds, and increasing her, already significant, name recognition. As of right now, she is the only Republican candidate that I see as a potential threat to the Obama campaign. In order to be successful, she needs to sharpen her message, and continue to build her image as a mother, and one of the "regular" people. She needs to make appearances at Tea Party Rallies, and speak out, clearly and succinctly, against things like Cap & Trade, and Universal Healthcare. We need Sarah to be a leader, and to inspire the Conservative Grassroots.Friday, July 3, 2009
